Alpha release of super mario odyssey pc-port

The wait is finally over for PC gamers who have been yearning to experience one of Nintendo's most iconic titles on their machines - a working alpha build of Super Mario Odyssey has just surfaced online thanks in large part to the tireless efforts of a dedicated group of developers and enthusiasts.

For those unfamiliar, Super Mario Odyssey was originally released exclusively as an exclusive title for the Switch back in 2017. Since then, it's been subject to numerous ports and re-releases across various platforms including smartphones and even retro consoles like the Nintendo Switch Lite.

However, until now there hasn't been a proper PC version available - that is unless you count countless bootlegs and abandonware releases floating around on piracy websites which we won't mention here. Instead, this latest alpha release promises to bring Mario's globe-trotting adventures straight into your living room with stunning graphics courtesy of Render96's impressive work.

According to reports from early testers who managed to get their hands on pre-release builds before it went public yesterday evening (EST), the game runs surprisingly smooth considering its still very much in development stages - some even comparing it favorably against official Nintendo releases at times!

So what can you expect from this alpha build? Well, for starters don't go into it with high hopes about everything working perfectly; after all we're talking about an early beta here. That said, based on initial impressions shared online so far:

- Graphically speaking things look promising - Render96's RTX ray tracing implementation really brings the colorful world of Mario to life in ways that even original Switch owners may not have seen before.

- Performance-wise it seems mostly stable although there are occasional frame drops and minor stuttering issues mainly during intense sequences like boss battles or when too many enemies are on screen at once.

Other notable omissions include support for certain controllers beyond keyboard+mouse (sadly no Joy-Con Pro Controllers yet), lack of motion controls altogether, plus missing features such as online leaderboards and local multiplayer capabilities - all expected to arrive down the line via future updates naturally.

Still, considering this is essentially an alpha build put together by passionate hobbyists working outside official channels without any direct input or resources from Nintendo themselves? That's nothing short of impressive if you ask me!
